Vonage in Holmdel Township, New Jersey - Lousy Customer Service

Went to cancel my vonage account seeing as I didn't need it anymore and I was paying for it a month in advance. Lady asked to process my payment for the month in advance seeing as I had a balance on the account and I spoke logically and said "why would I pay for a month I'm not using?" All the lady could come up with was "Its cause there is a balance and you must". No common sense whatsoever with these people.

Could Not Cancel Account With Vonage

Vonage has been taking money from our business account since August 2015. We had not been doing business with them since that date. I called the bank and put a Stop Payment on them. I called Vonage about how long they had been taking money from our account and that we had not used their service since the above mentioned date. I understand that my husband had gone into a Vonage store to cancel the service at that time and obviously it went unnoticed. I noticed on our business statements that they had been taking money every month for non-service. Aaron, at Vonage, said to call our bank and stop payment and that they would refund the money back. I do not trust them to do this, I called our bank again and they are still investigating how much Vonage has taken and how far back it goes. But, since they have been charging different amounts each month, the bank is going to charge us $31.00 to make a Stop Payment action.

i was not using my account for 3 months it was suspended by the vonage on first week..they supposed to cancel my account but when i checked after 3 month it was suspended status ,means my tfn are still safe there they didn't cancel. there were 186.07 doller outstanding...

I had a similar experience to this. I moved from my previous home in February of 2016.

I forgot to cancel my service and they continue to Bill me from February 2016 until September 2016 when my debit card expired. I just received a phone call this morning telling me that I have an outstanding bill for $140. I begin to explain to them that I moved from the service location that they have on file and that they charge me from February until September for services that I did not use or need and that the money that they said that I owed to them they've already received. Baby fused to cancel my service starting today they said that my cancellation date will be January 2nd 2018 and that I still owe them money from September until January 2018.

I am livid and I need to know if there's something that I can do about it.

I will be posting this story on every consumer website that I find. I hope that you have resolved your issue.

Hi this jordan williams well you people asked me for verification details which i already sent you regarding account number 20400 but still one of your exective is telling me that he is going to terminate my account by saying me that just after one day after i payed you $80.49 that according to him he found that iam fraud and if so why don't tell before i make payments.i clear each and every thing with your sales represtative cameron carter i also have recording of calls and the mails which is send by you people and if you still want to terminate my account than refund me my money and if its not in your policy why don't your sales representative make me aware of that because you people are running scam and scamming people by make them sign up vonage and take out money from their account anyways you are not only company in the world so tell are you going refund my money or you want me to call my credit card company/Bank for charge back reply me as soon as possible.it was such bad experince to do bussiness with people like you. +91-9797-111-356/ +91-8715867326

The taxes are now more than the service I and the worst part is the taxes are being charged by Vonage!! I stopped using and changed my auto pay card to a Walmart card so they could mail me my final bill. Somehow this company is now charging my PayPal account without...

Totally inept. I was told when I signed up for service that I could keep my old phone number and they would port it over.

They gave the wrong address to my previous provider so the previous provider would not release the number. They were not up front with me regarding their mistake. A week later they sent me some generic email telling me the temporary number assigned to me is now my real number.

I immediately contacted my old provider and they reactivated my account so Vonnage can port my old number.

We will have to wait and see how this all turns out but this I do know, I am done with Vonnage as soon as my contract is over.

Long time vonage customer who pays annually every February ($404). I cancelled my account in June of this year because it keeps getting more expensive for service i dont use. I asked about the prorated refund of the prepaid fees (July thru next February) and was told i wont get any refund because it is past the 45 day limit from when I paid in February. That aint right... rip-off.

Today I received an email from Ms. Keely of the Vonage Executive Response Team who agreed to refund me for the 8 unused months of service.

I believe that this action is a fair and equitable conclusion to my issue with them. I only wish that it didn't have to escalate to this level to resolve an issue of fairness.
