Vonage in Woodbridge, Virginia - Charge

They promote that 9,99 / month but actually they will charge you $53.00/month. do not trust this company, I had experienced with this. I already called customer service to cancel but he did not cancel so I have to pay $38 without using it. I called again they said I have to pay for the month that I did not use. I cancel and I have to pay cancellation fee for $30. I was disappointed and lost so much money. Please do not use this company. The customer service is very bad attitude.

Vonage in Williamsburg, Virginia - Vonnage scam

Last November I ordered Vonnage for $9.95 month, the bills for the first three months were double that, then doubled again for the next three months, if that were not bad enough, the service never worked, it was never activated for one second. I became ill and did not have the strength to deal with this until today. After speaking with three Vonnage customers service reps and explaining the situation, they sent me up the food chain to the manager of customer service. In all cases they insisted that they had the right to charge me $99.00 for a cancellation fee even after charging me $150.00 for not one minute of service. The customer service people are rude unresponsive and act like robots. Anyone that does business with this company should be prepared to have their invoices double the quoted rate. I am 70 years old and ill. No amount of explaining my situation or the fact they already had made a tidy profit on my situation failed to move them. They charged me the $99.00 cancellation fee! Shame on this company. Do business with them at your own risk. Naomi Replogle

Thanks to all who have posted their bad experiences here. I was thinking of getting Vonage.

Their commercials are very impressive.

After reading these posts, I will not be using Vonage. I will use our local land line provider

Thanks again,

Lisa

Vonage was my voice over IP provider for two separate lines. I contacted Vonage on September 16, 2010 to disconnect the service, as we no longer needed it and were relocating to another state.

When I phoned in, I did not have my pin number, so I was told to read the MAC Address off of the Vonage equipment to the customer service representative. Over the last 22 months my American Express credit card has been billed $78.81 per month. I have contacted Vonage approximately 5 to 7 times in the last 22 months regarding this issue. Each time I am told that the card will be reimbursed and that I will receive a confirmation e-mail regarding the disconnect status.

These e-mails never come. Yesterday, May 1, 2012, I initiated another disconnect and have yet to receive an e-mail confirming this. I informed Vonage that if I did not get a refund of the money that was stolen from my American Express account by them, that I would move forward in contacting your organization and many others until Vonage satisfies their debt to me. I was informed today, May 2, 2012, that Vonage would only reimburse me for the last 60 days.

This fact alone clearly shows Vonage's attempt to pacify a customer that they have wronged with a "low ball" figure. I have tried to be polite, courteous and professional when speaking with their customer service representatives in light of the fact that they have lied to us time and time again. I was told by Vonage that they have no record of any disconnect being initiated by us EVER. They also stated that the only record they have of me contacting them was in June of 2010 for "technical issues".

I confirmed with Vonage that all of their phone calls regarding customer accounts are recorded. I asked them time and time again to please pull up those records. Their response to me was that there are no records to pull up. I invited them to look at the account over the last 22 months to prove that there has been no activity and that the Vonage telephone modem has not been plugged in at any point in time over that 22 months.

Three separate representatives from Vonage (Lynn, Michael and Pauline) have confirmed that there was no account activity during that period of time. It should be noted that Vonage has also managed to access my American Express account even after changing the card numbers to avoid their "auto-Billing".

Take it from me Vonage is full of s@@&...I work there and I would NEVER advise anyone to get vonage. The company just wants you money who ever hear of your services starting w/o the equipment.

Vonage is a rip off. They do not do right by there customers nor employess. They tell the customers what they want to hear just to get a sale.

DO NOT GET VONAGE....like some say its cheaper to keep her. Keep the service you already have you are better off.

Vonage kept my money

I could never use get there vonage box to work with my internet services and tried to get my money back that they continue to take out of my account from the bank. I was never connet to there vonage services and has never made a call because was never a line to call from. Call and talk to an supervisor and was not satified. How can you take money from someone that has never use your company services. I will send them back all there equipment and will report them to the correct agency. I use vonage once before and didn't have this problem and explain to them that there box was not compable with cox cable box. All I want is my money back. I don't care if it is just $12.00. Thank You *** off

VONAGE decline in reliability and service

I used VONAGE for over five years. Poor reliability and service over the past ten months (dropped calls, no voice mail)made me decide to look for another service. Vonage seems desperate to retain its customers because they are giving me two months of free service so they can resolve my problem. Trouble calls are handled overseas (India?)so you have to deal with the language issue and wait times can well exceed 20 minutes. A VONAGE tech told me my dropped call problem was caused by a 3rd party service router issue w/in my calling area. I'm not sure why my VONAGE voice mail feature ceased working six months ago - five different VONAGE techs tried to fix it w/o success.

I have been a Vonage customer since 2005, and have yet to have a problem...

It's the billing, disconnect fees, failure to port over the line & unwritten contract terms -- same as the 678 other complaints posted here and on www.consumeraffairs.com/cell_phones/vonage.html

as well as the class action suits brought against them by the New Jersey Attorney General and others.

I've used vonage for about a year and had no problems. Not sure what problems you've been having as it doesn't specify here but if poor quality line, that would be your internet as vonage uses the internet to carry the signal. I had the problem trying to use magic jack but with vonage I have great line quality.

Why I think Vonage is illogical

I do not have Vonage thank god! Vonage sounds retarded because they try to play on the fact that bundling is bad. But what's the point of paying a whole new service to connect to a competitive company's broadband anyway. Vonage don't even provide the broadband. Bundling sounds more logical, because you're paying one company to do it all for you instead of paying a company to hook to an internet service that its trying to compete against. How in the world would Vonage sound inticing to anyone? Not to mention the annoying theme song for the commercial. I dont think my TV can take another encore. "ooh ooooh, ooh ooh ooooh!"
