Great sales team...then...beware!!!

The sales department at Vonage is fantastic. You express interest online, they call you back almost immediately. They spent almost 45 minutes talking with me and listening to how my business uses its current phone service... the rep I spoke with assured me that he understood and that Vonage could definitely do all that and MORE! He had me very excited by all of the features our business could use and how wonderful it would be. I signed up immediately and could hardly wait for our 800 number to be ported over to them! Then the nightmare began. I've been in business for almost 18 years, and have never had an experience like this one. I was told I could get everything set up so that when my number ported it would be seamless. Yeah.... no. It doesn't work like that. I contacted customer "support", and they couldn't answer my questions about how to get it done -- they kept assigning me temporary phone numbers, but had no clue what would happen when MY number ported over. One agent just suddenly dumped me on hold without telling me -- just *boom* - hold music...and left me there for 15 minutes until I realized that she wasn't coming back and hung up. Everything the sales department told me Vonage could handle, they actually couldn't. When I contacted my sales guy to express dismay, he suggested that I may have called a wrong number when I called support (!?!???). When I assured him that I had called the right number and was given little or incorrect info, he stopped responding all together. Now I'm left desperately trying to get my number ported back to the old company, while meanwhile irritating hundreds of customers who are getting endless rings / fast busy signals because the vm on the Vonage side isn't answering correctly. Biggest. Mistake. Ever. in my career owning businesses!

Their e-mails are returned as monitored with phone # to call which wants you to pay first and then drops your call every time holding for operator. The only number they provide is to sell you service.

Scammed out of 800 dollars

My husband signed up with Vonage business solutions for his new office. They told him they would port the number over within 3 days.After seven days, it FINALLY ported over so I tried to start using the system using the desktop website for voice mail set up, etc...Well, I spent the WHOLE day, calling the service number, waiting on hold for at least 30 minutes before getting someone with an accent that had NO IDEA what to do to help...finally after 3 such calls on hold and various other tries at support, I finally told my husband that it was ridiculous and to cancel this company immediately. He called the sales rep who turned sour and told him well you can't return the phone,to which my husband said,fine,I'll gladly eat the 60 dollars, just thanks,but no thanks for your service...forward to 3 days before Christmas when they charged his account 800+ dollars for the whole year AND an early termination fee...WE NEVER GOT THE SERVICE UP AND RUNNING....what can we do?

Vonage Displays as SPAM numbers for my Caller ID

I have signed up with vonage international calling service. All my international calls that i make outside of the UK come up as spam on all the phones of the people that i call. I called vonage 8 times and they keep telling that they dont support international caller ID

Lousy Customer Service

Went to cancel my vonage account seeing as I didn't need it anymore and I was paying for it a month in advance. Lady asked to process my payment for the month in advance seeing as I had a balance on the account and I spoke logically and said "why would I pay for a month I'm not using?" All the lady could come up with was "Its cause there is a balance and you must". No common sense whatsoever with these people.

after having system for a couple years and it working , there answer was when they couldn't fix it was to tell us that are system should never had worked like it was in the first place and that is why they can't fix the problem. what a bunch of bull!!! 3 months and hours holding for customer service to tell me that!!

had problem with phones, called customer service and head for 25 minutes. they had me do several test so they could document the exact problem for the tect people, said he had more then enough examples for them and someone with get back a hold of me. i waited a week and no one called tried to use on line chat( that was a joke) called back and held for 30 minutes and was told them had to have more examples of the problem so we did a bunch more test calls and we told any that someone would get a hold of me. waited another week and no call so i tried again and after another 20 minute wait i gave the person ( that did not speak very good English) the case number and he wanted all my info and what the problem was. i told him that i was told that the case number would tell him everything he needed. he wanted to do more test. i told him if you can figure out what the problem is with all the test you have run by now that you won't by running them a 3 time. i told him that this is thw worst customer service that i have ever seen and i told think vonage has a clue what they are doing and i will be going some where else for my ip phones

Bills from collection agency

Asked them to cancel my account In the month of May transferred the existing number to new account. Never had problem or charge on that old account so I assumed that it got cancelled. But last week in month of October I got a letter from debt collectors saying I haven’t paid my bill for 3 months. Called the customer service they are saying my old account was still active even though it had no phone number or service from that account. Never got any email or charge from them after May and I got a direct letter from debt collectors. Total fraud

More problems than worth in dealing with the billing department.

This company automatically increases your rates, and have to keep calling in so that you can stay at your lower rate. I do not like a phone service that automatically doubles on me. On top of that, if there are not enough funds just once, they send you messages time and time again saying to put a valid card on file. If it did not have enough funds for the one second that they tried to run it once, it will never be tried again. I don't care about loosing it, but it would be nice if they were able to at least not bounce every e-mail that is sent to them. Saying that it is unmonitored. If you are looking for a place that has good customer service that is open when you call, you should look elsewhere, as it is only open a very limited time such as bankers on the weekend. My main problem is that they are only open when I am not able to call them such as I am sleeping, or busy with other things. They used to have 24 hour service and rolled it back to 8 hours a day. The sales department is open 24 hours a day, but not the billing department, the one that I have a problem with.

Winery that lost money with Vonage

I had there system for 6 mo. and it was the biggest mistake I have made. They said that a rep would help with setup which is not true. They will give you some one on a phone that is not equipped for proper setup so your system never works right from day one, You call and they keep giving you different reps but never solve the problems. When you go out and buy a new landline system and spend 2000.00 they tell you that they have a special group to solve your problem. This is after you have called and cancelled the service but the next month you see that they have charged your credit card account. You call and get some one who reads you a disclaimer that says they can charge you that additional month so if you want your money back you have to get a lawyer. I called in late September and was billed for October and if I had not raised holy *** I would have paid for November as well. So if you are thinking about this company think hard because it is not what it seems these are not honest people. *** *** ***

Yes, you were a victim of a scam. The usual one begins with a phone call from some guy or gal with an Indian accent claiming that your computer is showing "errors" and for you to immediately go to your computer and they will help "fix" the errors, etc.

You end up allowing them to remotely control your machine and/or they want money to fix it for you. Microsoft has nothing to do with these guys.

Learn from this experience for later in life. And, of course hang up immediately on anyone trying to sell, fix or want you to donate money.

I have not used this phone since February 2018 due to not living in the house any longer. I have called many times to cancel and have been told it was cancelled and has been told they cannot cancel it because I do not remember the pin. I tried to change it online and it will not allow me to. Vonage has continuously charged me for service that I requested be disconnected in February. Please disconnect this line. I no longer want the service and they will not do it over the phone and its not allowed online. The service was not the best. phone was always had static and have the time didn't work. I guess it was okay for what I paid for the service.

This company is not honest and straight forward on selling their service, at sale point they were very nice and by giving wrong information they made me full to by the service for example they offered no contract service, but now that I’m suffering from lack of service after 3 weeks of service installation, they want $300.00 to cancel their service!!!!! I’m loosing business everyday since my business is based on phone and fax device connection. Very big mistake choosing this company and completely unsatisfied.!!!!!

Attention Vonage Management, CEOs, Customer Services;

Yesterday 8/13/18 called my brother in Philippines...

we exchange a few words then I thought I was still talking to him, but it recorded what words he said and repeatedly played it as I thought he was still there and realized it was a recorded, acted as if his still on the line. This was not the first time that happen its recording the other persons conversation and fooling me that Im still talking to a live person and it was a recording because it repeats over what was said over and over of the person I called. Then today 08-14-18 I called the globe line same number again of my brother that I been calling and same thing its recoding what his wife is saying over and over but a call was dropped. You all need to give us a refund for dropped calls and fooling us we talking live to a person yet its a pretentious recorded conversation living me feeling foolish thinking I was still talking to a live person on the other end. I demand 3 months of free service for all the Inconvenience’s I experienced for the last 3 months .
