Vonage in Englewood, Colorado - Try to cancel my subscription

We subscribed to Vonage only to find out that we did not have the right internet to support the Vonage system. We notified Vonage of this and we did not want their service. Vonage is still taking an automatic draft out of our checking account. This is three months ago and they are still automatic drafting our account. Now i have to change my bank account to get them to drop the automatic draft. They did not inform us that we could not be on the internet service that we are on to get service. We have never had service from day one.

This does happen at times :sigh please call vonage and ask for a supervisor in account management, they will refund your money and make sure that your account is closed. Sometimes they don't close the account so they can make more money (over seas agents) Just make sure you talk with a Supervisor! :x

Don't cancel your checking account,just your debit card.I did this to keep them from taking any more money from my account. Call your bank and cancel your debit card,and file a disputed charge with them.I'm turning them in to the FCC...suggest everyone else do the same.

Do not use Vonage

I have had no phone service for almost 11 days. Tech support was not availabe immediately, incorrect appointments, missed appointments (couldn't reach me on the phone, duh) I hired an Electrician who discovered some incorrect wiring outside (Vonage installation) He got it working for almost a day. Same sound returned. Had been on the phone hours day and night--- nothing. Paid $120 for the Electrician. Vonage couldnt help again with Tech support (dont carry new modems)Must order separately. Now, I'lll be into almost 3 weeks without phone service. Bought a new modem from Walmart- $80. Vonage could not help me install it-- This has gone on for days . I am now sick, have been up late at night several nights... and nothing has been accomplished except now i have a router that doesnt work. Vonage has not agreed to reimburse me for the electrician ($120) or the new Vonage modem (80) Please do not use Vonage Everyone I spoke to (dozens) were non-native English speakers. Since I teach that subject (ESL), I have more patience than most.... i could not handle NOT being able to understand key words or phrases when trying to get help. This experience has been a nightmere, and I left out so much. Similar service at Verizon is 3 times the cost of Vonage. The only other option is Charter, and they are the reason I left for Vonage. No one there could fix my phone connection for 8 months. I do not want to walk around using a cell phone. This whole situation is untenable. Please do not use Vonage!

VONAGE really sucks

at least once a month I have a soung quality problem. This means I have to call Vonage technical support somewhere overseas to speak to some dumb person who reads the scripts and has no clue hot to help. My latest problem with Vonage is still not resolved after 2 days of calling my "choppy sound " problem is not fixed. The minute my contract expires I'm changing companies. Vonage sucks because of its uneducated technical support people. --DELL has lost huge business because of outsourcing tech support in Asia, I guess Vonage is next. --Why companies ousource tech support to Asia if they know that U.S. customers are not sattisfied with this kind of service? ................

Vonage are crooks

Vonage has a way of charging almost 140 dollars when you discontinue service. They did not tell you this until you disconnect from their service and they will hit your credit card within minutes of you call to them to end service. To me, this is an unfair practice and they need to be stopped. Next time I switch from one service to another, I will get magic jack. It is no wonder that they are starting to go under. They need to be investigated by the Feds. I wish that the Feds find out about them and take the action needed to change this situation.

My phone bill keeps going up. I changed my plan to the basic and on a $17.99 phone bill there is over $9.00 in fees.

Talk about a rip off the freaking govt. is ipping us off.

Vonage..$ 39 to cancel within 24 months LOL

I was happy with them for 21 months until I decided to just go wireless and cancel. Agreement says $ 39+ to cancel within 24 months per their agreement. I buy their box, pay for their service, and have to pay to cancel ??? WTF, good luck getting it, my credit is already f'ed up. It's not like they gave me a free phone or something like a wireless company they have to recoup. "Hey, I wanna cancel my subscription to this magazine I paid for in advance. What you're gonna charge me because I don't want it anymore" ????

Vonage in Hattiesburg, Mississippi - Could not transfer my present number or even give me a local one

Vonage is a horrible alternative to phone service. Do they train their employees to lie? Not only could they not transfer my present number, they couldn't even give me a local number. They continued to promise. The promises are a way to keep you connected until your free disconnect date passes then they will cont. to charge you and force you to pay a fee to stop service. When I ask for the contacts name and employee number it meant nothing, because their is no way to get back in touch with that person. They have never heard of customer satisfaction.

Vonage in Nashua, New Hampshire - Signed me up for Pro and I only wanted Basic

I found I had 2 billing amounts for $39.37 and realized I had to rectify this..I have been billed for a Pro account and not a basic..hmmm clever. How could they make an error like that? I guess we must look or seem dumb to these companies..I have not cancelled my agreement as yet, I am going to give it a couple of more months. If I get one more Pro billing I will cancel for sure. Money these days is hard to come by. I hope they realize we all are in the same boat.

Why I think Vonage is illogical

I do not have Vonage thank god! Vonage sounds retarded because they try to play on the fact that bundling is bad. But what's the point of paying a whole new service to connect to a competitive company's broadband anyway. Vonage don't even provide the broadband. Bundling sounds more logical, because you're paying one company to do it all for you instead of paying a company to hook to an internet service that its trying to compete against. How in the world would Vonage sound inticing to anyone? Not to mention the annoying theme song for the commercial. I dont think my TV can take another encore. "ooh ooooh, ooh ooh ooooh!"

Vonage, their service is as bad as complaints about magic jack. The phone constantly breaks up on both sides. Even after spending eight hours on the phone with tech support. The service worked while they were testing it then quit by the time another phone call came through. They've used every excuse as to why the service doesn't work right. They said that it wasn't working right because they needed to enhance the voice on their end. Then because I have a wireless network set up for my other computers and someone was stealing internet from it that was causing a drain on the service. Bottom line they told me in order to cancel I would be charged $120.00. The service is lousy.

I have had Vonage now for about a year and a half-- first I lived in New York City and moved 10 months ago to Fargo, N. D.

I just took the Vonage device with me to ND and plugged it in and it worked. I have never had any problems with Vonage service or billing. I have never had to call support so i have no comment about their support line.

I would recommend the service very highly. Absolutly no complaints about it.

I thought vonage sounded too good to be true, but decided to try it anyway. Anyhow, the service slowed my high speed internet service down so much you would have thought I had dial-up. So in order for my high speed internet to work, I had to unplug the vonage phone...

I was one of the first people too have Vonage for my phone system and I thought it was great at first. But I kept losing phone calls and when people would leave messages on my voicemail get lost.

They said they were trying to fix the problem for me but it never went away. Then they said I needed new equipment that was free. But the new equipment didn't help either I just made matters worse. Then when I wanted to cancel the service all sudden the free equipment became I have to pay for.

Then all the sudden I had fees charged to me for cancellation also.

I reported Vonage to the Attorney General of Pennsylvania my credit card company for fraud. Unfortunately this took a year or more to get it resolved and Vonage kept fighting me all the way.They still send me emails and they keep sending mail to get me to come back I'll never come back to a rip off company!
