Vonage.. phone co from ***
I had cavalier from 1988 and never had a problem, I retired and am disabled so I was searching for low cost phone service, vonage popped on the tv,I signed up paid my money and then it started, cavalier did not transfer me right away so I was paying two bills ,cavalier finally let me go on Tuesday, and today (Wednesday)I awoke no phone service,, no internet and when I got to a phone to call vonage, they charge $99.00 to come out and see why I am cut off from the world, but since I have been having problems they will only charge $20.00, , and know what ?? I have spent about $200.00 and have to use someone elses phone and computer to complain.. My brother in Fla changed to vonage the same time I did and when we talked and the phone cuts off ,only when he is talking to me,last night we were talking and the phone cut off ,he was on his cell phone and I was on my phone using vonage,,
Vonage in Neola, Iowa - Paying the price for badly documented charges
In December 2011, I began a search to find out if Vonage would be right for me. I make calls to Germany all the time. The World Plan looked just right and I signed up at the end of the month. Over the last three months, I started looking at the benefits. I saw that wireless might not be covered for different plans and different countries. I tried to find whether this plan covered wireless in Germany. At the time there was no straight forward way to search and find this. I dug around on their site one afternoon for about an hour trying to find the elusive info. There was a note that German wireless was free to a specific plan type but that description was not one of the described 3 or 4 plans. I searched to find out if this was part of my plan and finally found something that directly or indirectly told me that this was covered. So I started to use this. Big Mistake! The irony is that I remember a survey that they took where I specifically mentioned that I was grateful that this was available and I praised Vonage. Talk about ridiculous. Now I have two months of high bills with Vonage (the second started before I knew about the charges on the first). Talk about a conflict with their advertiments. (Kudos to Vonage - they have cleaned up their on-line documentation of this now. They just do not have the integrity to admit their mistake. Having said that, what will be the next mistake and how will it cost me? Stay away from them)

THEY REFUSED ALL MY CALLS NOW AND THEY REFUSED TO GIVE ME BACK MONEY FOR NO SERVICE STILL HAVE NO SERVICE !!!!!!
Other than the high price and the fact that I didn't use the service, I had very few complaints with my actual Vonage service. However, I do find it rather annoying that Vonage does not permit its customers to cancel online. Their website doesn't make it particularly...
Vonage in Greensboro, North Carolina - Vontage has really pissed me off
Okay so I went to cut off my service on the 9th, due to my internet getting cut off,..on the 8th they billed me for an entire month of service. I cancelled the service,..however they still are billing me for the entire month of March. They wouldn't just pro-rate the day of the ninth,...they hit me for the entire month. Their reason,..its an auto billing payment cycle. Seems to me if a customer calls on the ninth and cancels the service,...I owe them one to two days of service at a pro-rated daily amount. they didnt agree. Now I'm stuck with no internet,...and a monthly charge for a phone I cannot use anyways. REALLLLLLLLLLLLY *** I was seriously considering restarting my account once I got a new ISP,.. after this,...yeah riiiiight. Don't think so.
Used Vonage for 8 years, STILL HAPPY!
Sometimes, you have to consider the source on complaints. We have used Vonage for voice for about 8 years and FAX for about 3 years and have NO TROUBLE! If it is connected properly, it works. I don't have to mess with it, ever. Yes, if the internet connection goes down, it goes down but so do every other VOiP service you will use. That's the way it works. No difference between services if the underlying service goes away. We prepay for the entire year and get a better rate. Seems like 2 months free. I really hate it when people are not as smart as the device they are using and come on here and complain. You hook it up, it works. What else is there. Call quality is good all the time. The hardware is reliable. I connect two of the interface boxes on the Comcast Gateway box and the one for fax service is on the end of 3 100Mb switches and, still, no problems with incoming and outgoing faxes. Never has been. Worked first time, continues to work after a couple of years. I have seen other services and am currently looking around for any improvements but I have found nothing, yet, to make me switch. Mike
Vonage in Rochester, New York - DONT USE VONATGE---ALL LIES
I used vontage for less than a week and they charged me like ***. The guy told me unlimited international-false claim. I got charged $85 for calling international, and they told me about the charges after a week. Just canceled and also canceled my debit card because they keep taking money out and its frustrating, their people dont know how to handle customers, basically go to your bank and tell them to not let Vonage take anything from you. Not even that, dont even think about think about signing up with them, its all lies. Poor judgment on my part.
I got Vonage service so my kids could have a phone at the house. I don't use it in favor my cell phone. The kids moved out months ago and I noticed the charge on my bank account and decided I no longer needed the service. I cancelled service with Vonage on Nov...
This web site and the reviews of Vonage
I thank this site and the wonderful consumers that have written in about vonage. I was going to switch my service to Vonage,BUT NOT NOW. Thank all of you for your helpful input. I am so sorry all of you had to learn the hard way, but you can feel assured you have helped this person that is stuggling to make ends meet in this day of the greedy companies. That is what makes this country so great; we all stick together to help each-other. All of you have contributed to saving me more grief and agravation and loss of money. I thank all of you patriots. Vonage Review, are they getting worse?
Even to this day Vonage still no customer service. Vonage's severe lack of communication is nothing less than disappointing. You as a consumer really get the feeling that they don't care anything about their customers. One problem after another and nothing ever gets fixed. Their customer service reps can't understand English if you ever do get through to them, and they won't answer your questions directly as I think they don't know the answers. they also advertise that they cover a lot of areas which they do not cover! for example; they say they cover Mexico, but they don't cover most of it. Okay, here is the best part about Vonage, when you call disappointed upset and angry, if you can actually get through on the phone after being put on hold multiple times. They now have what's called the "complaints plan" I kid you not. They will try lowering your monthly bill to 50% for the following month if you don't cancel. If you insist on canceling they will give you the next month for free. Really a "complaints plan" how bout just fixing the problem Vonage? What else can I say? I'm another severely disappointed Vonage consumer.
