Asked that from Vonage as well and they said that the "Umlimited" is based on a fair usage policy that prevents users from using the vonage phones to send "Mass calls"

Pathetic/Arrogant/Stubborn Vonage Constomer Care

Vonage customer care has the best of worst customer representatives i ever encountered. They are the most arrogant and stubborn people on earth, rather than trying to solve customer's problem they straight away say a big 'NO' when refund comes into the picture. They just know how to trap people and loot us. We were a loyal customer from last 3 years and suddenly there was some visa issue and we had to leave the country on urgent basis. At that time we called the customer care and asked to discontinue the service, then they convinced us that they will keep our account on hold for next 6 month and we don't have to pay anything. As he was just continuously requesting us we agreed to it. Somehow we missed to call them exactly after 6 months and our billing date is 19th, we called(7th month) them on 19th Dec itself and they denied to pay our money back. They charged us on the credit card for the service we didn't use of $24.99 + tax for past 2 months. As we are not using our credit card we never logged in the bank website to check the bill and there we were charged some $30 fine. They are so horrible and pathetic, when we requested them to credit back our money they told they can only transfer to the account and we have to use there service. They cannot revert back to the credit card. They just know how to trap the customer and take money from them. I will never recommend anyone to use Vonage service.. There are better VOIP service providers. Please don't use their service.

Vonage withdrawing unauthorized charges

Vonage has been deducting $39.99 for 1 year without authorization. When we contacted Vonage they were only willing to refund 3 months claiming the "statue of limitations" ran out. Unfortunately, my mother didn't find out about the fraudulent charges until it was too late. She has never had this problem with her checking account so she never checks her bank statements. I am appalled at that the fact that a company can take your money without your permission and then claim that oops you found the mistake too late. Vonage robbed a senior citizen of over $400.00. They are no different than those *** artists that take advantage of people to get their money!

Vonage, do not post here if you want help

If you click through from this site to Vonage complaint dept, or support, you vonage account will be locked. I guess they figure that if you can't complain, there is no problem. They make it really hard to contact them by email, ironically, or strategically, because of course if your phone isn't working, it's hard to call customer support. email support is bad. Takes a long time for them to reply, and when you reply to their email, you a different robotoid every time and with no tracking, so you start over every time. "reboot", again and again. That's the only way they know to fix anything. If that doesn't work, start over and reboot. Vonage support sucks.

Vonage - Bad, bad bad

Vonage is a great idea, and technology, when it works right out of the box, but.... if you ever need support, you will want to cry, pull out hair, and finally collapse in total dispair. Do no ever let yourself get into a situation where you depend on Vonage. It is impossible to get support from this company. They have millions of customers and on't give a *** about one of them. I have been trying for two weeks to get help with connecting my device. it worked for almost a year before I moved, never needed any help. But now, I can't get it to work, and all I can get from them is "form" emails, telling me to reboot etc, over and over. No one read the info you send to them, they just send automatic emails back with the same basic info. Basically, "John and Jenny" who are either robots, or poorly trained Indians, tell me to reboot continuously. I hate this company and all they stand for. Poor service, and reliant on marketing to get more new customers than they lose as a result of bad service. Why doesn't someone give us an alternative?

Vonage in New York, New York - Refused to address Callers to my telephone cannot hear me due to static.

Callers have been unable to hear for the past 5 days when they try to call me due to static. have made over 20 repair calls to Vonage over past 5 days. Vonage Ticket #42771871. Vonage India tech support could not help and Refused to transfer me to Advanced Tech or to Tech Support in USA. insisted they call me to troubleshoot, but they cannot hear me. Said there was nothing they could do. Waste of money and time to outsource tech support when there is no tech support at Vonage. Outrageous to waste my time and spend money on a service that cannot provide any service. How do I get someone to repair this phone or how do I get a land line. The old telephone system always worked

Vonage in Wylie, Texas - Deceptive company with fraudulent practices

Vonage marketing is a big fraud. They deceive people by luring them into false promises of gift cards when signing up. These gift cards will never never ever show up. I've followed up with their customer service for the last 5 months for my gift card, each time getting a reply saying the request has been escalated and that a gift card will be sent pretty soon, but of course nothing shows up. This is a company that adopts these fraudulent practices by deceiving its customers, so you can very well imagine the corporate culture. I'll never recommend anyone to go with Vonage. There are much cheaper options out there, where you are not made any false promises. It's all black and white and very upfront. This company will go after your *** if you try to disconnect, by imposing false charges on your bill, such as disconnect fees, termination fees, 1 month notice fees etc. They'll go after your credit too without giving you any recourse or option to argue with them on their own deceitful practices. Stay away...they won't survive US market any longer....get ready to sell yourself vonage or file for bankruptcy.

Vonage robbing my mom

My mom(78yrs old and hard of hearing)went to Best Buy to get a cheap land line phone.somehow ended up with a vonage phone.ok,simple mistake.after i had seen the phone i told her to return it.she neither had internet access or a phone line.the box was never opened and a call was never made in any way.then she starts getting billed by Vonage.She had my brother look into the situation and it turned out the email linked to account was a guy in ohio.now either through fraud or a Vonage mistake,shes being held responsible for the 100 dollar bill.Now shes 80 and just was informed by mail,shes being sent to a collection agency for the 98 dollars.a year ago my brother spent endless hours on the phone with Vonage and it was supposed to be taken care of.To me this seams like Vonage enjoys preying on the elderly.Now my moms in tears about her credit rating and trying to sell heirlooms and personal items she loves to pay the bill just to make it go away.Tomorrow(10/2/12)I'm calling the collection agency and if this doesnt get resolved,im contacting AARP and possibly an attorney.If anyone else has somewhere i can call,please reply.thanks and stay away from Vonage.

Between pissedconsumer.com and ripoffreports.com there are OVER 1500 complaints about vonage.

And these are just the people *** about it on two sites. how many are there that have not seen these sites or just don't get mad enough to complain ?

Part of the scheme is to NEVER let you get to anyone who can nor will do anything for you to resolve this. Just look at all of the people who opened accounts and now they either refuse to close the accounts or just refuse to stop billing them.

This is just business as usual for them.

When really nasty things start happening to this internet company, like a vindictive group of hackers from def-*** start. . . . (use your imagination). I will find it hard to shed a tear at their plight, after what they have done to their customers.

Vonage dishonest

I Had Vonage the firs time and i cancel the keep charging me for a line that was not active after that i received a consumer alert that the had ben suit and were going to court for over charges i think is time to do a new one if all the people that have ben rub by this company will get together will get justice done. so not learning from my first mistake they claim they were better i sing with them again and all of the suded they star again with charges that i don't recognize i call to cancel and they still have not cancel the game of call here call there not here but there same game tire of dealing. some times the big fish its the small fish i want to see it the other way around i am going to keep looking to see were we can fin a place to get justice
